Modified play-fair encryption method using quantum concept

Reena Singh, Shaurya Taneja, Kavneet Kaur · International Conference on Computing for Sustainable Global Development · 2016

In this paper, modified play-fair encryption method is presented with the application of quantum concept. Ancient play-fair cipher was character based. With the help of quantum theory play-fair cipher was converted into bit based. Proposed encryption technique uses its own lookup table to encrypt and decrypt the characters into binary and vice-versa. Quantum concept is used to select the direction from which the character is to be substituted for encryption/decryption. Finally, the work is concluded by showing that modified version of play-fair is better than the ancient play-fair in all aspects. Paper also highlights the future enhancements in the proposed encryption technique.
