ComputerAided Mammography (CAM) is one of the best methods for early detection and classification of the abnormalities occurring inside and around the breast area which leads to breast cancers in women. Highest success rate has been achieved by using appropriate segmentation along with the classifier indicating the severity of the breast cancer at premature stages to decreasing the death rate among women of middle age. This paper presents currently used detection and classification techniques along with the suitable pre-processing and feature extraction schemes in the field of Computer-Aided Mammography increasing the efficiency and accuracy of early diagnosis.
