SINR-based Rake receiver in TD-SCDMA reverse link

Qiao-qing Hu, Yang Xiao · 2005

To smart antenna of TD-SCDMA systems, the presented space-Rake technique is not suitable. However, Y. Xiao, et al (2005) and A. Mohamed and E. Mohamed (2003) provided an approach to separate space processing and time processing, which makes it possible to use presented Rake technique. In this paper, the finger assignment strategy which uses the per-path signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) rather than the average signal strength used in conventional systems for assigning RAKE fingers in TD-SCDMA system is discussed. Through much lucubrating to rake receiver based on SINR in TD-SCDMA reverse link, significant improvement in performance is achieved in terms of the bit-error probability. An algorithm for estimating the SINR of per-path also is provided and analytical and simulations results are presented to show such gains.
