Advances In Biomedical Supercomputing

K. Krishnan, Srinivas Laxminarayan, Jean-Louis Coatrieux, J. Yadav · 2005

The use of supercomputers to solve biomedical problems is becoming a norm. Until recently, most of the biomedical problems were solved on personal computers and main frames. But as the problems become more complex, and as researchers try to model complex systems, the traditional tools have become time consuming. Supercomputers are efficient tools to understand and solve problems that are not otherwise solvable. This paper reviews the use of supercomputers as applied to biomedical sciences.
