Massive attacks to exploit unclassified and classified information are underway against the nation's information systems. As evidenced by the Walker spy ring, tremendous damage has been caused by loss of cryptographic material, leadinz to exploitation of classified information. The temptation to procure, operate, and network the most advanced office automation systems with inadequate security must be resisted in order to avoid paying future penalties even greater than those of the last few years.
