Finite Element Modeling Of Man For The Evaluation Of Implanted Electrodes
Osama Ashraf Mohammed, F.G. Cler · 2005
THE MODELING PROCESS A 2-D grid generator is developed and used to create a finite element model of the cross-section of a human body. The presented grid generator is capable of providing high precision in modeling any complex topology. Given the outline of the region to be discretized, the algorithm automatically creates triangular elements to optimally fit that contour. The flexibility of the element size furnishes further control over the precision of the model and the accuracy of any solution obtained using this model. The evaluation of the potential distribution produced by implanted electrodes is carried out for two cases using the man model, and the results are presented.
