Assisting register transfer level hardware design: A Prolog Application
LEON S. STERLING · 2003
Due to the overwhelming complexity of VLSI systems, designers are turning to higher level notations and abstractions for the description of hardware systems. This paper briefly describes the graphical hardware design language Gdl and the application of Prolog to the analysis of designs expressed in Gdl at the register transfer level. Issues of representation, implementation and the use of Prolog in combination with procedural languages are addressed.
