A New Approach To Three-dimensional Reconstruction With Application To Autoradiographic Images
Weizhao Zhao, Tzay Y. Young · 2005
This paper describes a novel image alignment approach to the problem of reconstructing three-dimensional medical images. The approach is based on analysis of pointto-point disparities in two image planes. We present an efficient optimization algorithm that makes full use of the prior knowledge of the image structure for the image alignment problem and demonstrate its performance on a threedimensional reconstruction of a sequence of autoradiographic images. The disparity analysis method is general and flexible, and may have application in matching of other medical images such as PET and CAT images.
