Non-linear Analysis Of Sensory Evoked Potentials
Pierre J. M. Cluitmans, J. E. W. Beneken · 2005
This paper describes a technique which extends the conventional evoked potential technique and enables characterization of non-linear properties of a seasory pathway. Both the average response to single stimuli and the non-linear effects that occur when responses to multiple stimuli interfere with each other are characterized with this non-linear analysis. The mathematical principles underlying the technique are described and the physiological interpretation of the results are described. Signal to noise properties are studied in a simulation of a hypothetical nonlinear system.
