The integration of intelligent network (IN) capabilities (to be known as CAMEL) is seen the solution to the restrictive service control/creation aspects of GSM. It would also provide a bridge to future evolution towards IMT2000/UMTS. The paper describes China's mobile intelligent network system (CMIN02). The design and implementation of CMIN02 are discussed. The CMIN02 system is followed by the ETSI GSM CAMEL standards and provides the prepaid service (PPS).
