Paradigms for ITS (intelligent tutoring system)

This paper reviews different paradigms for intelligent tutoring system (ITS). It examines earlier ITS paradigms that attempt to model after either the physical processes (of teaching/learning), the expert or the learner. More recent paradigms as used in "principle-based", SICAI (Semi-ICAI) and ECAL (Extended-CAL) systems. Finally, a new paradigm called "Dimensional Extension" is presented.>
