Text‐Based Remote Synchronization

Matheus C. Carvalho · 2016

The basic condition to enable interactive synchronization between instruments controlled by different computers is that the computers can exchange information between them. They need to be connected to a network, such as the Internet. The idea here is to write a script on a computer to send a message from this computer to another. The script on the first computer is waiting for this message, and the cycle can be repeated as many times as needed. A better way is to use instant messaging software. It is possible to use AutoIt to automatically send messages to another computer via Trillian. In order to enable that, launch the AutoIt Windows Info utility (AWI) and move the cursor to the window in which messages are being exchanged between the two computers. These techniques enable the control of FAke Carbon Analyzer Controller (FACACO) and FAKe AutoSampler (FAKAS) in synchrony.
