Random numbers are fundamental to all aspects of data security. The strength of a security mechanism is directly proportional to the randomness of the numbers it uses. These numbers are provided by special algorithms called random number generators (RNG). This paper describes a novel security approach on authentification schemes as a modification of ECDSA scheme. The modification is done by adding a key stream generator, W7, to the standard ECDSA in order to increase the process security and in turn the authentification protocol performances. An efficient hardware implementation of the elliptic curve digital signature scheme was captured using VHDL language. For the hardware implementation of the design, an FPGA device was used. The implementation results illustrate the hardware performances in terms of time computation and area occupation. The proposed ECDSA scheme is suitable to be a reliable and efficient for embedded devices with respect to security interests.
