Fast encryption of RGB color digital images based on elementary cellular automata using three processors

Image encryption is an important aspect of security in digital world. One of the main challenges in image encryption is speed of encryption. In this paper we propose a new color image encryption scheme based on elementary cellular automata (ECA). The proposed scheme is a parallel encryption of the color image that makes increased the encryption speed. Obtained results from different experiments on a color image show that performance and security of the proposed scheme is better than previous works.
