This study investigates the behaviour of the Space Alternating Generalised Expectation maximisation (SAGE) algorithm with a uniform three dimensional antenna distribution. The SAGE optimisation algorithm is used to replace the high dimensional optimisation procedure necessary to compute the joint maximum likelihood estimate of the parameters, by several separate maximisation processes, which can be performed sequentially. In this paper, the simulations are done in a multipath environment and the calculated parameters are the relative delay, the azimuth and elevation angle, the Doppler frequency shift and the complex amplitude of the waves. This work is focused on the movements of the mobile user, resulting in Doppler frequency shift. The performance analysis is based on numerical simulations. The investigations demonstrate that the SAGE algorithm is a powerful tool that can be succesfully applied for parameter extraction with high resolution.
