The Shape-from-silhouette digitization technique allied to the VRML/X3D programming language makes possible to develop a low cost form to exhibit any content using the World Wide Web. Here, we present the use of such techniques in order to create a vertebrate paleontology exhibition of the installations of the National Museum of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. By means of VRML/X3D it is possible to exhibit exemplars that, for a diversity of reasons, cannot be exhibited physically in the museum. Beyond that, the incorporation of user friendly technology to a scientific purpose may be a promising way to bring children and the youth closer to scientific museums, joining together education and entertainment.
