Summary In the past seismic data processing, Low-frequency component was often removed while dealing with the surface wave or removing other noise. But we should know, the loss of low-frequency components will have a serious impact on the subsequent processing of seismic data, for example, the side lobe of the wavelet will be increased, which would lead to the false appearance of events increasing. Low-frequency information also plays an indispensable role in inversion and migration imaging. In this paper, though the methods of establishing a series of structural models to carry out the forward modeling, doing inversion with original seismic data and the data losing low-frequency components, then, make a comparison and research the influence of the losing of low-frequency information on the following processing of seismic data. This paper also introduces a method of stabilizing low-frequency components based on CIP local correction, and we get good results on models and actual work area.
