Multimedia sign language dictionary for the deaf and hard of hearing

Multimedia sign language dictionary for the deaf and hard of hearing is a computer based application which is designed to assist people, especially children with hearing impaired problem to master their sign language and speech reading. The main module of this application is word dictionary module. The words visualization in a form of photos or pictures will help users to easily understand the meaning of words they are studying. Afterwards the words are being transformed into videos of sign language and speech reading. Currently, Telkom Indonesia has implemented Indonesian sign language dictionary, known as i-CHAT (I Can Hear and Talk) since April 2010. In this paper we propose to develop i-CHAT in several languages.
