Managing and Storing Function Results in Temporal Approach

Data retrieval as a complex data management approach belongs to one of the most important parameters affecting system performance, management and data processing. One of the tools for improving performance, reducing time-consumption as well as the total cost is based on index definition. Nowadays, we can distinguish various types of indexes affected by the flags and specified properties. In this paper a brief overview of individual index structure types is proposed, but our focus is based on specialized index approaches and methods, index management on existing systems with emphasis on processing in the temporal database environment. In the experiment section, we compare functional and virtual column indexes.
