Use Of Stored-Numerical-Data Information Extracted From A Computing Program In Scientific Visualization

Y. Manabe, S. Kawata, Choompol Boonmee · International Journal of Modelling and Simulation · 1997

The authors propose that the numerical stored-data information necessary in order to retrieve numerical data for scientific graphics can be extracted by analyzing the computing program. In scientific graphics, one major problem is to retrieve numerical data from a variety of stored-data formats, types, and order for common graphics routines. When a stored piece of numerical data varies from case to case, a data-input routine in a graphical program should be adapted to the various stored data, or a user should transform the stored data, so that the graphical program can input the data. The authors attempt to solve this problem, and to improve the graphics efficiency by using the new proposal. They also present a simple, flexible example of a graphics system based on the proposal.
