Using Test Cases Grouping and Iteration Repair to Fix Multi-points Bug

Currently, most automated program repair techniques are based on the test suite to constrain the generation of the patch. However, these techniques are facing an important challenge-how to fix multi-point bugs. A multi-point bug exists in a number of statements, and is always cannot be repaired by mutating a single statement. This paper proposes a method to repair multi-point bugs by grouping failed test cases and iterative repairing. Our experiment on programs that contain multi-point bug presents the effectiveness of our method: we can fix 90% faulty versions, and as a comparison, the selected repair tool can only fix 4.3%, our method can greatly improve the multi-point bug repair capacity of automated repair tools.
