MC4ES: Going Multicore for Embedded Software
Jeroen Boydens, Marijn Temmerman, Robbie Vincke · Lirias · 2012
Multicore architectures are becoming available in embedded systems. However writing efficient and safe parallel software is hard. In order to effectively increase efficiency of applications, the software must be reengineered to exploit parallelism. In embedded systems this is not as obvious as expected since custom hardware is added to the multiprocessor platforms and support for parallel software is currently missing. Therefore EP (KHBO) and TeraLabs (KdG) join forces and started the MC4ES project (funded by IWT Tetra 110174). EP focusses on parallel design patterns and testing strategies, while TeraLabs focusses on implementation techniques and tooling support for multicore embedded systems.
