Situated and ubiquitous crowdsourcing with volunteers during disasters

Although emergency services have already recognized the importance of citizen-initiated activities during disasters, still questions with regard to the coordination of spontaneous volunteers and their activities arise. Situated and ubiquitous crowdsourcing seem to be appropriate concepts for supporting the management of voluntary activities during emergencies. Within this paper we present two tools that encompass both types of crowdsourcing mechanisms.
