Are you (not) entertained? estimating the state of a crowd in an event using wearable sensors

Humans are social beings. They like to gather and interact with other people at their home, at their workplace, in performances and events. Social interactions are one of the main aspects of being human. We believe, with todays sensing capabilities and current state of pattern recognition research, we can come up with solutions that can automatically detect the social phenomena happening in such scenes which can be exploited to infer high level information. With this derived social information, gates to wide area of applications will open.
