Testing phase is one of the important phases of a software project. A research shows that to successfully complete a software project, 40% of its resources should be invested in testing. Any minor errors in testing phase could become a major threat to quality of the product as the errors occur after the product is delivered to the user. In website development, testing phase plays a key role. Before the project reaches the testing phase, there is a testing procedure performed on individual modules of the project by the developers which is called the Unit testing. It is theoretically proved that if proper testing mechanism is used in the unit testing phase, the errors which occur in testing phase can be truly minimized. This helps in some serious cost reduction of the project and saves project resources used in testing phase. Criterionv1.0 helps the developer to automate the process of unit testing and makes sure that the website is free of broken links. The tool is divided into two modules which address, some of the basic problems encountered by developer while testing the website.
