Payal Mishra, Neelam Dewangan · 2016

Cognitive Radio is an emerging technique in Wireless Communication System as to improve the utilization of radio frequency spectrum in wireless networks. Cognitive radio not only deals with inflexible pre-requisites but is also a novel approach for better utilization of the large, already packed but highly utilization of radio spectrum. In wireless network Cooperative sensing is one of the new communication skill prototype that allow distributed terminal to cooperate with each other through signal processing to comprehend space diversity to reduce the effect of fading. In order to be able to achieve a reliable communication over Rayleigh fading channel, and minimize probability of total detection error of a particular SU in a cooperative cognitive radio network using different optimization algorithms. Here, we use Genetic Algorithm to solve various optimization problem occurred in wireless network. The result is compared with other metahuristic algorithm i.e. Bacteria Foraging Optimization Algorithm and it is evident from the comparison that BFOA finds better solution in the given CR network deployment. All the performance has been evaluated using MATLAB environment and giving satisfactory results.
