Chapter 1 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 52, no. 6), “The Knowledge Base at the Center of the Universe” Introduces the topic of electronic resources knowledge bases and defines their core functions and components. It addresses the evolution of the knowledge base from a component of early OpenURL resolvers to a broadly integrated piece of library infrastructure.
