Data mining of heterogeneous data with research challenges

Monika Kalra, Niranjan Lal · 2016

With increase in digital information, the size of database increases day by day. In ancient time, people used to go the library or any other source for finding information to fulfill their needs. At that time data was less, but now we are living in the world where data and objects are interconnected to form a huge and sophisticated network and now we can search anything in a single second by just typing the name of an object on the web and retrieve thousands of results in a second. If we will type `Research' on the search engine and in less than a second search engine gives no. of results to us. For instance, 30 billion web pages are accessed today, now it becomes extremely important how we retrieve the result, so that useful and related information display first. Due to the revolutionary change in information retrieval and data mining system, it is very useful to use data mining techniques to evaluate and analyze Structured, Semi-Structured, Unstructured or Streamed Data called Heterogeneous Data. This paper is an overview of intelligent data mining system for Heterogeneous Data with some research challenges in the field of heterogeneous data mining.
