A comprehensive study of modeling Doubly selective channel using Basis Expansion Techniques

S. Ramakrishna, Priyatamkumar · 2016

With the revolution in the wireless communication and networks there is an increase urge for achieving higher data rates and mobility. The higher data rates give rise to the frequency selective propagation while carrier frequency offset and mobility induced Doppler shift introduces time selectivity in the wireless links, which is termed as Doubly selective. Modeling a Doubly selective channel is a complex process as it offers more co-efficient to be estimated as compared to the singly selective one. Basis Expansion Model provides an optimal way of modeling a Doubly selective channel. This paper presents a comprehensive study of various Basis Expansion Modeling Techniques such as Complex Exponential, Discrete Protalate Spreidol and Karhunen-Loève Basis Expansion Techniques.
