Adjectifs et noms désadjectivaux comptables : quelles relations ?

Marie-Laurence Knittel · Verbum · 2015

This article deals with count deadjectival nominals, or ‘occurrences’, based on the examination of data extracted from the frWaC. We show that these nouns do not denote properties, contrary to their mass counterparts. They can display various readings, and some of them refer to arguments of the corresponding adjectives, their values depending on the class of the adjectives they are built on. We also suggest that the opposition between properties and occurrences for deadjectival nouns parallels the contrast between events and results for deverbal nouns.
