Study on Mine Communication Network Based on Ethernet and WSN

Changsen Zhang, Mao Yan · 2015

The paper puts forward a coal mine monitoring and emergency communication system constituted of wired Industrial Ethernet and Wireless sensor network (WSN), based on the research of the present status of mine monitoring system. At normal condition, the Ethernet works as the backbone mine communication network, WSN as auxiliary communication network, to complete the collection and transmission of the mine monitoring data. When in disaster conditions or cable line outages, network the WSN is waken up and works together with the useful part of cable line to work as an emergency communication system. This system can transmit timely the rescue voice data to the ground control center. According to the environment of coal mine, this paper presents a deployment strategy based on the coverage of WSN node rectangular partition. The nodes will be arranged on both sides of the tunnel to achieve 2 connection.
