Gil-Dong Hong · 2014
This study aimed to analyze the possibility and problems of current HMD devices and then, as a solution, to develop a portable foldable virtual reality headset equipped with high functionality, price competitiveness, and portability. In order to solve particularly the portability issue among the problems of HMD devices, we built a prototype in the form of portable foldable cellular phone case and evaluated its usability. Usability was tested in three forms Tour Guide, You Tube, and Street Vue, and portability was also evaluated together. The results were satisfactory in terms of function, but many of the participants felt dizzy when the contents had many movements as in Street Vue and this may need to be considered in the development of software in the future work.
