R.C.A.S. Rescue Communication at Sea
Oskar Malm, Adam Thorén · 2016
The Swedish Sea Rescue Society (SSRS) currently does not have a convenient and intuitive solution for the at sea communication. Today there are several helmets and radio devices tried to fulfill their needs but neither of them has succeeded to work well as a system. Through both primary research (Interviewing coastguards and other SSRS staff, field trips to rescue stations, trying out existing gear etc.)and secondary research (Market research, studying former works in the area etc), Form developement, trial and errror and really pushing our software skills and our design thinking we have worked hard to develop a tailor made solution together with and for SSRS. The result is R.C.A.S (Rescue Communication At Sea). This system is specially developed to handle the tough situations a SSRS volunteer can be faced to during rescue operations.
