Development and Application of Kanban Tool Visualizing the Work in Progress

Kanban is a method used in agile software development. It is a very important tool as it acts as a central communication hub among the members of an agile development team. In this research, the authors developed a novel web-based digital Kanban tool with the functions to visualize and limit the WIP for each developer. The authors applied the Kanban tool to actual projects and sent out questionnaires to the project team. As a result, some developers were able to manage tasks easily and appropriately, and the quality of communication, conferencing and consultation and motivation were improved.
