Facial expression recognition based on direction basis function network

In this paper, the Direction basis function networks(DBFNs) are proposed to improve the problem of facial expression recognition. Due to the diversity and nonlinear characteristic of facial expression itself, We proved a new linear feature extraction approach of facial expression which achieved a good directional feature. Using Cohn-Kanade facial expression database, our method provides a better performance for facial expression recognition.
