Motivation of students is one of the major factors for success. At the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien the authors tried to use project based learning to increase the motivation of students. The results are very positive. One example, the RoboCup project is shown in detail. Students came up with the idea of soccer playing robots. The university supported the idea, the students managed to be among the first eight teams worldwide for many years. In 2010 the students even managed to win a discipline in the world championship of robot soccer in Singapure.
