Why smart bankers wear glasses
Thomas Mühlematter, Flavia Donno · 2016
Can Smartglasses be used in a bank? What are the real advantages? What is the effectiveness, efficiency and acceptance for the new technology? In this work we assess the use of smartglasses for employees in banking. A list of security considerations is also given. Preliminary explorations with users show that use cases for the technology exist in banking. These use cases revolve around a direct hands-free access to information. An improvement has been observed for employees in object-localization tasks when assisted by smartglasses compared with control conditions despite adverse effects. Acceptance was universally low among test subjects mostly due to the immaturity of the technology. Results show that the technology is still too immature for integration and that users have very high expectations.
