A 10-A wideband transconductance amplifier

Yang Zhang, Nong Wang, Zhengkun Li, Bing Han, Xiaoting Li · 2016

This paper presents a simple solution to realize a high-current, wideband transconductance amplifier for testing the bandwidth of a current transducer. The new amplifier is based on a modified voltage-controlled current source circuit with a class-AB power amplifier as the current booster. A new frequency correction network to extend the circuit bandwidth and stabilize the feedback loop is presented. The measurement results show that the designed amplifier can output current up to 10 Arms and has a bandwidth greater than 100 kHz (-1 dB).
