An enhanced greedy perimeter stateless routing algorithm for wireless sensor network

This paper analyzes the defects of the Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR) and makes improvement, puts forward a new Enhanced Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (EGPSR) Algorithm. In this algorithm, on the basis of the remaining energy of the neighboring nodes, the forward region is uniformly divided into four subregions. Then the region with minimal energy variance is chosen as the routing selected region. Finally, the probability mechanism is applied in the chosen forward region to select the next hop node. Simulation experiment shows the EGPSR algorithm can effectively balance the network nodes energy and accordingly prolong the network life cycle.
