Mitigation of switch-Dos in software defined network

OpenFlow is the standard Software Defined Networking (SDN) protocol that is deployed in many network systems. Although SDN provides promising solutions to many security problems, it is also exposed to new attacks targeting the data plane, the control plane, or the links connecting the two planes. Race conditions exist between the data plane and control plane which increases the packet forwarding delay. This paves the way for switch DOS attack. The race condition is mitigated and switch DOS attack is provented. Evaluuation results show that the performance of the network is enhanced and significantly SDN is prevented from switch Dos attack.
