Detecting threats of violence in online discussions

This thesis presents research and experiments on the task of threat detection in online discussions, using natural language processing in a machine learning approach. We use an existing data set of manually annotated YouTube comments, that we enrich with linguistic information. We create classifiers for the detection of threats of violence, by extracting linguistic features from the data set, as well as from external sources.
