Companies and organizations of the most diverse sectors process an enormous amount of information every day. A relevant question is the concern with the improvement of its products/services and competitiveness, especially in the software development market. The handling of that diversity of information is fundamental to improving processes and/or even the quality of the final product. In the Project Management context, in particular, project risk management, the most relevant information at the beginning of a new project is the information about past projects. The need to store past knowledge is undeniable. This knowledge can be used both in the estimates of costs and deadlines as in other processes such as the process of risk assessment, as a way to learn from the past experiences. Most of the techniques used for risk identification and risk analysis make use of the past experience of people involved in the identification process. Based on these initials considerations, CBR Risk method was developed in mid-2007, as a method for automatic risk identification. This method has the fundamental premise of software projects have similar risks. For a new project, the CBR Risk tries to find similar projects in a database from which the risks can be adapted to the new project. This work presents the evaluation of the functioning of the model through studies and experimental results analysis, promoting an evolution of the concepts used and improvements.
