The variety and variability of mining and geological conditions, in which mining machinery and equipment (cutter-loaders, heading machines, conveyor transport, auxiliary equipment) operate, lead to the overshoot of their planned or optimal operation modes. In this connection, when developing the effective control systems for mining machinery and equipment, there arises the problem of determining the real probability of overshooting the predetermined limits for the mentioned operation modes, within the framework of which, from the technical or economic point of view, functioning of mining machinery is possibly still acceptable. The mathematical solution of this problem is reduced to deterrnining the probability characteristics of the intersection of random variables of a given level i.e., it is reduced to solving “the problem of overshoots”.
