Authentication Models and Strategies
John Wylder · Auerbach Publications eBooks · 2003
Most people in business, if asked about information security, think first about their own use of user IDs and passwords. Their view of the world of security is the narrow one of authentication systems and authorization schemes. They do not have a thorough understanding of all the other issues regarding information security and risk reduction. While this makes the protection of information a challenge, authentication systems do make a good point to opening the larger discussion of information security. It is also important to understand authentication and authorization in depth and to link those two concepts together to build a model of security that can be understood and shared by the information security professional and the business manager.
