UNIX-to-UNIX Copy
Andreas J. Pilavakis · 1989
The UNIX-to-UNIX copy (uucp) network provides a means of exchanging information between UNIX systems. One does not need to be a communications expert in order to connect UNIX systems with uucp. However, the uucp network will normally be set up by the Local System Administrator (LSA). This is because uucp files and certain system files (such as the “passwd” file) which will need to be modified, can only be modified by the LSA. In setting up the uucp network, the LSA can also prevent security breaches and unauthorized use of the network.
