The mixed problem of finite elasticity consists in finding a solution u of the partial differential equation supplemented by boundary conditions of the form Ŝ (∇u)n prescribed on S, u prescribed on D, where and are regular subsurfaces of ∂ℬ with ∂ℬ=S∪D, S ̊ ∩ D ̊ =Ø, and n is the outward unit normal to ∂ℬ.
