Microblogs have emerged as a popular platform for sharing information and expressing opinion. Twitter opinion retrieval is now recognized as a powerful tool for finding people's attitudes on different topics. However, the short length and the informal language of tweets make Twitter opinion retrieval very challenging. In this paper, we propose a stylistic-based method that leverages simple and specific stylistic variations to retrieve tweets that are relevant and opinionated on a particular topic. Results show that the proper handling of textual meta-communications can significantly improve opinion retrieval performance in Twitter.
