Multimedia profile for low cost science usage In recent years, ESOC has supported scientists in preparing for future remote science operations in space in the scope of precursor missions with Spacelab, Spacehab and the Russian space station MIR. An important topic of the lessons learned became the awareness expensive and are not directly accessible by users with more modest availability and reliability requirements. To serve also these users, the global Internet provides an attractive low-cost alternative.
