CAUSAL NETS: FOUNDATIONAL PROBLEMS

A Bayesian net can be constructed around a causal graph; the viability of this construction procedure depends on whether the causal Markov condition holds. It is shown that under standard interpretations of probability and causality, this assumption often fails.
