This collection is the second in a series (ref. Scientific reflections, PSIpress,2011). In the present collection, some very old and some very new algorithms are presented with a focus on important scientific applications. Thus, Algorithmic reflections is not so much a computer-science book --- with the attendant abstraction or dryness one has come to expect --- but a livelier expose of how algorithms can find their way in to applied science and industry. ~ from book cover
